McGinn Actuaries Ltd. is a privately-held, independent organization, owned by actuaries.  Most of our actuaries have served employee benefit plans for at least 15 years.  Our actuaries also are members of the American Academy of Actuaries, the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and the Society of Actuaries.  Enrolled Actuaries certify defined benefit retirement plan funding compliance as required by ERISA.

We design and assist in the administration of pension, profit sharing, 401(k), group life, health and disability programs.  Additionally, we assist companies in developing non-qualified deferred compensation, stock option and executive compensation and benefit plans.  We also work with clients on plan design issues and costs, and we continuously monitor changes in financial statement requirements.

• Performing actuarial valuations for defined benefit pension plans, including preparation of federal actuarial certifications;

• Calculating pension and post-retirement health care benefit obligations and assisting accountants in developing financial statement information;

• Providing assistance in record-keeping for employee benefit plans;

• Performing actuarial audits;

• Analyzing investment performance and assisting investment advisors in the development of investment policies; and

We have multiemployer plan experience with a wide variety of industry plans: 

• in electrical, glass and metal construction, food processing and freezing, fish canning, trucking and warehousing;

• in industries that are robust and expanding or contracting and facing hard times.  

We have pioneered the development of unique �funding policies� for multiemployer defined benefit pension plans and computerized the generation of yearly cash-flow projections that assist clients in formulating investment strategies and planning for the future.  

We perform frequent and continuous studies to evaluate acceptability of new single and multiemployer units joining existing multiemployer defined benefit plans without disturbing the plans� funded condition.  

We have single employer plan experience with both large and small corporations for which we provide plan design, FAS �87 financial statement valuations and enrolled actuary services. 

Our firm operates solely on a �fee-for-services� basis plus reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses.
